Delivery & Shipping
Do you deliver cakes?
All wedding cakes are delivered and setup for free within a 10-mile
radius of the shop. Delivery fees outside this range are available
upon request.
Special
occasion and pound cakes are typically not delivered, but arrangements
can be made for delivery in the Washington D.C/Baltimore
metropolitan area. An additional fee is charged for this service
depending on the distance. Please contact us for more information.
Do you ship cakes?
Our wedding and special occasion cakes cannot be shipped.
Pound
cakes can be shipped anywhere in the continental US. We ship via
the United Parcel Service (UPS). Our pound cakes are shipped to arrive
in 2-3 days.

Ordering
How do I order a cake?
You can call us at (301) 931-CAKE (2253). If we are unable to attend
to you immediately, your call will be returned within 24 hours.
Orders
are also taken via the internet by making an inquiry. We will contact
you within 24 hours to confirm your order and review the details
to ensure that your order
is completed to your satisfaction.
How far in advance must I place an order?
We prefer at least a one-month notice for wedding cakes and a one-week
notice for all other cakes. For rush orders, special arrangements
can be made if our baking schedule can accommodate your request,
please contact us.

How many do your cakes feed?
Wedding cakes and special occasion are designed to feed the number
of guests you would like to accommodate.
Our pound
cakes are 10” round, feeding 16-20
people.

Cake Storage
How do I keep my cake fresh?
Our decorated cakes (wedding and special occasion) can be kept at room
temperature in an airtight container for 1-3 days. If you would like
to keep your cake longer, it should be kept in the refrigerator,
in an airtight container, up to one week.
Our pound cakes can be kept at room temperature in an airtight container
for one week.
Can my cake be kept in the freezer?
We recommend only freezing our pound cakes. They should not be kept
more than 3 months.
To freeze the pound cake, wrap it in plastic wrap first, followed
by aluminum foil with the dull side out. The cake must be completely
covered. To retain freshness, begin thawing your pound cake out 24
hours in advance. When you are ready, remove the cake from the freezer,
allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for 12 hours. Then allow it to
sit at room temperature for an additional 12 hours. Remove plastic
wrap and aluminum foil when ready to serve.

Decorations
Are your cakes decorated?
Wedding cakes and special occasion are decorated to your specifications.
We can do everything from basketweave, roses and rolled fondant for
your wedding cake to trucks, clowns or portraits for your special-occasion
cake. Our staff will help you design your own unique creation.
Our pound cakes come with a flavor-appropriate glaze that is decorated
on the cake for local pickup or included in a separate container for
shipping purposes.

Cake Tasting
Can
I sample a cake?
A few times during the year we sponsor open houses and all of our cakes
can be sampled, but on a general basis, we only have cake tastings
for wedding cakes. These are held during our open houses and by appointment.
